7 Ways to Holiday at Home

7 Ways to Holiday at Home

Summertime is the chance to take some much-needed time off to reset and relax. If you are taking time out to relax at home, then there are a few ways you can create that holiday feel without the stress of travelling or packing. When we take time off at home, often we find ourselves tackling jobs on the to do list that need to be done which then doesn’t make it feel like a break. If you have DIY plans, then make sure you plan time for that separately. If you are taking time off to recharge your batteries and have a break from routine and work, then treat it like you would if you were away.

Dine Outside

If the weather permits, then take some time to dine al fresco, whether it’s breakfast on the terrace or sunset dinner plans. Take time to make yourself a nice breakfast, something you might order on holiday rather than the usual quick piece of toast. Create a beautiful dining space outside with a garden dining set like the 6 seater Shiro and Hali set. The stylish rope chairs give that boutique hotel feeling whilst the round dining table is perfect for conversation with friends.

Reading a good book or two is the ideal way to switch off and relax, totally immersing yourself in a juicy novel. Most people take a book on holiday with intention of reading to relax. Why not create your own little reading nook at home. This is ideal if the weather is a bit chilly as you’ll have a cosy spot to retreat to. Start with a comfy armchair or accent chair, side table for a hot drink or glass of something and a cosy throw plus your favourite read.

You can also create this in the garden with a sun lounger and side table in a quiet sunny spot

A spa day is the ideal indulgent treat for a little relaxation. You could book yourself in to a local day spa or why not have a spa day at home. Elevate your bathroom at home with a few candles and tea lights and invest in some spa products. Have a bubble bath, face mask and play relaxing spa music to help create the right ambience. You could even treat yourself to a new robe and towels. Be sure to have a side table or stool nearby so that glass of bubbly is not too far out of reach.
