Sample Sales

Laura James host sample sales from our Sheffield photography studio and storage warehouse. The sample sale is an opportunity for us as a business, to ensure the samples we purchase ahead of launch can be sold and used by our valued customers reducing waste as part of our dedication to sustainability and environmental protection. It also provides customers with an opportunity to purchase our products at significantly reduced prices.

All of the samples sold at our events have been built, quality controlled checked and used for the photography you see on the website. Samples will have been handled, transported and used on set to achieve our beautiful aesthetic. Inflections such as marks, scratches, paint chips and general wear/tear will have occurred. Some parts maybe missing e.g. cushion covers and some items will need assembling fully before being ready for use - e.g. tightening up screws on chair legs if they have been partially built for photography purposes. 

A sample is a great opportunity to purchase a Laura James product at a fraction of the cost. We will have everything from dining chairs and tables, sideboards, bedside tables, king and double beds, garden furniture, sofas, TV units, coffee tables, wardrobes, sofa beds and accessories including lighting. Items will be current collection or previous years collections and can be viewed on our website - what you see in the shot, aside from some gentle retouching post production, will be the items you purchase. 

As we do not know what will be sold at each event, and is a 1st come, 1st served event, items may go quick and full sets may not be available e.g. someone before you may buy 2 chairs from a set of 4, leaving 2 available. We encourage you to book in early to avoid disappointment.

  • Items are sold as seen and may require some TLC to get to perfect standard including sanding, painting, cleaning etc...
  • You may also need to buy screws, bolts and tools to build any dismantled sets e.g. garden furniture.
  • Items are paid for in full, in cash on the day and have to be taken away at the time of purchase.
  • Items cannot be saved, stored or reserved.
  • Items cannot be returned once taken from the studio.
  • Items should expect to have defects due to being built, dismantled, moved in transit, handled on photo shoots etc.
  • The studio is not open 5 days a week and sales will be open for a specific date and time only for customer use. Please do not come outside of the specific hours as we maybe closed or on location and unable to assist. 

Our next sample sale will be on the 20th January 2024 at our photography studio in Sheffield.

Only customers with a valid appointment will be allowed entry. Please register with your appointment and have this confirmation to hand when attending. 

Please note we will allocate a 30 minute slot for 20 customers at one time. As soon as that 30 mins has expired, we will be welcoming in the next 20 customers to make their selection and purchases and asking all those who have not purchased to either select an item or exit the sale, so we can accommodate the next batch of customers.
