Autumn Winter 2024 Indoor Furniture Trends
As the last days of summer are behind us, autumn is a chance to turn our attention to our interior spaces and give our homes a refresh for the cosy season ahead. Here are a few of the interior trends for autumn winter to give you a little styling inspiration.
Warm, Earthy & Muted Tones
One of the key trends for autumn is a muted and earthy colour palette including neutrals, browns, and deep oranges. Embracing warm and neutral tones creates a sense of calm whilst feeling effortless. Playing with textures can help add cosiness to your space, a sofa becomes inviting with the addition of soft throws and cushions. Using fabrics such as boucle and jute will also add interest to your space and rugs will introduce warmth to wooden floors and help anchor the space.
If you want to introduce more colour, then try a shade of caramel or terracotta. You can add touches of this with a throw, lamp or even an accent piece like a chair or stool. These colours will help to create a cosy retreat.
Sustainability & Natural Materials
We are all trying to take on a more sustainable approach to everyday living, which is why it is no surprise that sustainability has become a key trend for interiors. With natural wooden pieces such as our Bosco dining set crafted from acacia wood not only shows the beautiful natural grain of the wood but these pieces are durable and long lasting which means that they stand the test of time.
This trend extends to accessories and textiles too; beautiful natural pieces bring warmth and texture to an interior space. The Rushall rug is made with a blend of wool and cotton and our range of jute lighting is all hand crafted in India by local artisans using renewable jute to craft each product.
Curved Edges
Whilst we have seen the trend of scalloped edges and waves in home accessories in previous seasons, we are now embracing curvy furniture. Think oval tables, round coffee tables, arches, and curved design features. Our beautiful Myla curved coffee table or Imogen side table would make a statement addition to a living room. The Willow range features an oval dining table with a round pedestal base, and a matching side table. Try using an arched mirror to complement any curved furniture and soften the look of a room.
Biophilic Design
The power of nature and mental well being has played a big part in interior design in recent years. That is why finding new and interesting ways to bring the outside in is still imperative during autumn and winter. Creating a peaceful home that boosts joy and promotes wellness can be done with touches of greenery and helps us feel connected with nature. Introduce indoor plants to your home, even a few faux plants can create the same look.
Use large potted plants in the corners of the kitchen or living room and smaller ones dotted along windowsills. If you do not have a lot of surface space, then hanging plants can also work well. Plants can be used in any area of the home, and minimal maintenance plants include snake plants, rubber plants and aloe vera. The addition of indoor plants or green accessories also complements this season’s colour palette of muted natural and earthy tones.
