Get Your Garden Ready for Spring

Get Your Garden Ready for Spring

Dreaming of warmer days? Although, any hopes of sunshine and warm weather seem like just a dream, the first signs of spring will soon be blossoming, and it is always best to be prepared. Once your garden is organised you can relax and enjoy the outside space you have created ready for the warmer months.

Time to Tidy

After a long and chilly winter, the thought of getting outside and doing some cleaning and gardening does not sound appealing. However, putting in the time now means you will soon be able to enjoy those warmer months once the worst jobs are out of the way. Start by clearing any twigs, branches, leaves and general debris that has blown into the garden. Clean up any surface space and ensure you give your decking or patio a good wash to get rid of dirt and moss. Have a general tidy up and be sure to declutter anything that’s no longer useful, broken plant pots or garden furniture that’s past repair

Get Gardening

Even if you are not really a keen gardener, there are still things you can do to get your garden tidy for spring and summer. Firstly, tidy up the lawn so you have a nice, even surface and if you have plants and shrubs that have overgrown, then you can prune back those branches. Get the weed killer ready and catch them before they grow in the spring.

If you are interested in growing some flowers in your garden, then head to your local garden centre for advice on how to get started. You could have a go at growing your own vegetables and herbs. A few vegetables that are good to grow in early spring includes carrots, spinach, and potatoes.

Plan Your Space

If you are looking to elevate your outside space with garden furniture, think about how you want your garden to flow. Do you love to cook and host summer lunches and barbeques? If you plan on entertaining, then you will need plenty of space for an outdoor dining set. Whether you prefer classic and practical rattan furniture, or a wooden dining set our range offers designs that can seat up to 10 people.

You may prefer a more relaxed entertaining area, create an outdoor living room by investing in a garden sofa set, a couple of garden chairs and a coffee table. This will make the perfect space for a summer garden party.

Once you have decided on the right garden furniture and where it is going to go, you can style the space. Think about your garden as an extension of your home, adding accessories like a rug, cushions, lighting and a parasol if needed, will add some personality to your outside sanctuary.

Consider Storage

Creating a dedicated area for some garden storage is a practical solution especially if you have a smaller garden. Having clutter and mess will only put you off wanting to sit in your garden, so a place to keep things out of sight is a must. A garden shed is a practical solution and perfect for items like tools or bikes. A garden storage bench is ideal for storing throws, garden cushions and outdoor accessories and is easily accessible. Our Orson rattan storage bench is available in brown or grey and comes with a handy seat cushion so it can double up as an extra seat as well as offer ample storage.
